As each year passes globalization becomes a larger part of the world. Technology and broadening minds allow for people to travel and discover around the world. This global movement brings a new awareness of diversity along with the similarities that exist among so many different cultures.
Wednesday's Lesson Plan
The world united in 1999 to celebrate the dawning of the new millenium. The celebrations began in Fiji and then travelled across the world as people watched from their televisions. The millenium was seen as a symbol of hope and peace for a better world in the years to come.
Thursday's Lesson Plan
After the new millenium the world continued on in its way. The world looked forward to the years and events to come. The early 2000's saw a controversial presidential election in America, increasing terrorist attacks, and amazing growth in technology. The world continued to try to work toward a more peaceful global community.
Friday's Lesson Plan
The decade beginning in 2000 was declared by some to be the international decade for a culture of peace and nonviolence for the children of the world. This is a beautiful outlook for the future of our world.
